CN Rate Increases
MONTREAL - Jul 19/05 - SNS -- Rate increases will be imposed by CN Rail on special crops and single-car covered hopper cars moving from Western Canada. The increases are effective August 1.
Under Tariff CN 5659, Items 5000000, 5100000 and 5200000, CN is applying a 3% increase on rates for special crops moving in covered hopper cars from Western Canada origins to Vancouver, BC; Thunder Bay, ON; and Churchill, MB.
Under export grain tariffs CN 1398, CN 1399 and circular CN 6129; CN is increasing single-car covered hopper rates from Western Canada origins by 7% to Vancouver, BC and Prince Rupert, BC and by 7.5% to Thunder Bay/Armstrong, ON and Churchill, MB. CN is also increasing boxcar rates by 3% to Vancouver, BC and Thunder Bay/Armstrong, ON.
