Sheep Sales Lift Australian Auction ActivitySYDNEY - Jul 15/05 - SNS -- Livestock sold through online auctions managed by AuctionsPlus Pty Ltd jumped during the past week on strong advances in the number of sheep and lambs sold. Throughput for the week totalled 40,829 sheep and lambs, up from 30,655 head the previous week, for a second week over week gain. The number of cattle put through the company's auctions totalled 1,282, compared to 2,739 last week, offsetting the previous week's losses. "The markets are in a flurry and to be reasonably accurate in assessing what a line of stock may make is about as good as it gets at present," AuctionsPlus's Dean Lemmich said.
