Marginal Gains in U.S. Meat OutputWASHINGTON - Jul 12/05 - SNS -- The total U.S. meat production forecasts for 2005 and 2006 are raised slightly to 87,535 million and 89,752 million pounds respectively, according to the latest report from the USDA's World Agricultural Outlook Board. Modest increases were also recorded in red meat output in 2005 and 2006 to 46,529 million and 47,631 million pounds. Higher pork and broiler production in the second quarter of 2005 and higher forecast broilers in the third quarter offset lower second quarter beef output.
