Port Strike Leaves Canadian Specialties UneasyVANCOUVER - Jul 8/05 - SNS -- North American markets for birdseeds and other specialty crops ended the week's trading mostly unchanged to slightly easier. Market sentiment in Canada was not helped by signs the truckers strike in Vancouver, which has halted much of the port's container traffic, will not be settled as easily as the earlier dump truck drivers strike. Steep increases in fuel costs because of record international oil prices was the spark for both strikes. However, container stuffing companies and truck brokers are not as inclined as the construction industry to meet the truckers' demands.
