Manitoba Invests in Poultry Co-opWINNIPEG - Jul 4/05 - SNS -- Granny's Poultry Cooperative (Manitoba) Ltd. received CDN $900,000 from the Manitoba government to help fund a capital expansion program at its Blumenort plant. The company said the project involves "the introduction of state-of-the-art processing and packaging equipment that will serve to further increase our operating efficiencies and advance the company's involvement in value-added processing." Granny's Poultry is the largest food and poultry processor in Manitoba which is both owned and controlled by Manitobans. It is also the only processor of turkey in the province, employing from 460 to 510 people during regular and peak seasons.
