Sugarcane Area Inches ForwardWASHINGTON - Jun 30/05 - SNS -- Sugarcane area for harvest for sugar and seed during the 2005 crop year is estimated at 948,000 acres, 1% above last year, according to the USDA seeded area estimates for 2005. Area for harvest in Louisiana is down 5,000 acres from last year, while Florida growers expect to harvest 14,000 acres more than last year's hurricane-damaged crop.
