2003 Canned Bean Shipments JumpedWASHINGTON - Jun 23/05 - SNS -- Food manufacturers reported their biggest annual increase in the volume of canned beans shipped in 2003, notes Gary Lucier in the June edition of the USDA Economic Research Service's Vegetables and Melons Outlook. "The latest U.S. Census Bureau product shipment data from the Annual Survey of Manufacturers covers 2003 (data for 2004 will be released later this year)," Lucier wrote. "The value of product shipments in this report represents estimates of the total value of all manufacturer shipments of canned dry beans.
