Maisonneuve Appointed to CGCOTTAWA - Jun 21/05 - SNS -- Agriculture Canada appointed Liliane Maisonneuve of Edmonton, Alberta as assistant commissioner with the Canadian Grain Commission (CGC). Maisonneuve will serve in Alberta for a three-year term. Maisonneuve was raised in the farming community of Brosseau-Duvernay in Alberta. She has owned a grain and oilseed farm at Guy, Alberta in the Peace River area since 1974 which she continues to manage. CGC assistant commissioners are stationed among producers in grain-growing areas. They deal with inquiries from producers and the grain industry and publicize CGC activities in their respective regions. They also present the concerns of producers in their regions to the CGC. The CGC has four other assistant commissioners working closely with producers and the grain industry in Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario and Quebec.
