title:USDA Changes Kale GradesWASHINGTON - Jun 20/05 - SNS -- The USDA has revised U.S. Standards for Grades of Kale. The revision will allow percentages to be determined by count rather than weight, include kale leaves and bunches of leaves in addition to kale plants, and change the application of tolerances for packages containing less than 15 specimens. The current standards are at http://www.ams.usda.gov/standards/stanfrfv.htm and the proposed revisions are at http://www.ams.usda.gov/fv/fvrulemaking.htm. A description of the revision will appear in the June 21 Federal Register and become effective July 21. Questions can be mailed to David L.
