Mexico Looks for Bigger Asparagus HarvestWASHINGTON - Jun 16/05 - SNS -- Mexico's asparagus production is expected to increase 10.5% this year to a forecast 58,000 metric tons (MT) due to good weather conditions in regions devoted to asparagus production. In releasing the latest report on the sector, the U.S. agricultural attache for Mexico noted last year's harvest ended up smaller than initially thought, sinking from a projected 68,000 MT to just 52,500 MT due to difficult producing conditions in key northern and central productive areas.
