U.S. Edible Bean Seeding Ahead of Last Year
WASHINGTON - Jun 7/05 - SNS -- Seeding of this year's dry edible bean crop is ahead of last year, but slightly behind the recent five-year average, judging from data available from states reporting seeding progress.
Soil moisture conditions remain good. Michigan and New York are the driest states at mostly short to very short; while topsoil moisture is mostly adequate to surplus in Utah, North Dakota, and Nebraska.
