Drought Hurts Vietnam's Coffee CropWASHINGTON - May 24/05 - SNS -- Coffee growers in Vietnam are unable to respond to high international market values by expanding output, according to a recent report from the U.S. agricultural attache for the country. Drought conditions in the country's key growing areas will force a reduction in harvested area this year from an estimated 495,000 hectare s in 2004-05 to a projected 450,000 hectares in 2005-06.
