Red Meat Stocks Continue DeclineWASHINGTON - May 20/05 - SNS -- Total red meat supplies in freezers finished March down 3% from the previous month at 906.5 million pounds. By contrast, this is up 3% from the previous year, notes the USDA in its latest report on agricultural products in cold storage. Frozen pork supplies jumped during the month to 563.5 million pounds, up 26% from the previous year. Stocks of pork bellies were up 10% from last month at 89.5 million pounds and up 85% from last year. However, supplies of beef declined from year earlier levels, falling 12% to 326.7 million pounds.
