rices Encourage Costa Rica Coffee Growers
WASHINGTON - May 20/05 - SNS -- High international prices are encouraging coffee growers in Costa Rica to invest in their plantations, resulting in a forecast increase in output to 2.05 million 60 kilogram bags in 2005-06.
Nevertheless, Costa Rica is a long way from returning to the production levels of the late 1990's, which exceeded 2.5 million bags, argues the U.S. agricultural attache for the country.
