General Decline in Aussie Auction ActionSYDNEY - May 20/05 - SNS -- Livestock sold through online auctions managed by AuctionsPlus Pty Ltd fell during the past week as increased sheep and lamb sales offset declines in cattle Throughput for the week totalled 17,748 sheep and lambs, down from 18,867 head the previous week, and offsetting part of the previous week's gains. The number of cattle put through the company's auctions totalled 1,225, compared to 2,552 last week, offsetting some of the previous week's advances. "Demand for fed beef, both export and domestic, has lead the way in keeping steer prices remarkably solid, given the state of pastures," AuctionsPlus's Dean Lemmich said.
