Steady Growth in China's Tomato Industry
WASHINGTON - May 17/05 - SNS -- Fresh tomato production in China is expected to rise 2% in 2005-06, rising from 34.1 million to 34.9 million metric tons (MT), according to the U.S. agricultural attache for the country.
This steady growth is allowing the country to expand exports of fresh tomatoes to neighboring countries, though the total quantity shipped remains relatively low.
