New CGC Chief InspectorWINNIPEG - May 17/05 - SNS -- The Canadian Grain Commission (CGC) has appointed Randy Dennis as chief grain inspector for Canada. Dennis has worked in the Pacific region, as quality assurance inspector, terminal inspector-in-charge, operations supervisor and as manager of inward inspection services. From 1999 to 2005, he served as regional director, Prairie region. The chief grain inspector oversees the CGC's grain inspection, grading and certification programs which are designed to preserve and enhance the quality and integrity of Canada's cereal grains, oilseeds and pulses. He is responsible for developing the grain standards submitted annually to the Western and Eastern standards committees. The Winnipeg head office of the chief grain inspector directs grain inspection and grading across the five CGC regions.
