USDA To Buy Asparagus
WASHINGTON - May 17/05 - SNS -- The USDA will buy up to 7 million pounds of frozen and canned asparagus to be donated to child nutrition and other domestic food assistance programs.
USDA purchased 7 million pounds of canned and frozen asparagus in fiscal year 2004 (which ended Sept. 30, 2004), and 5.6 million pounds in fiscal 2003.
