Gold Kist Profits Rise, Sales Slip
NEW YORK - May 10/05 - SNS -- Gold Kist Inc. reported net income of U.S. $38.7 million on sales of $570.8 million during the second quarter ending April 2, compared to a net of U.S. $29.9 million on sales of $575.6 million during the same period of the previous fiscal year.
This lifted fiscal year to date net income to $42.9 million on sales of $1,122.8 million, compared to a net of $33.3 million on sales of $1,112.5 million during the first half of the previous fiscal year.
