USDA Designates Ag Disaster Counties in TexasWASHINGTON - Apr 21/05 - SNS -- The USDA designated counties in Texas as primary agricultural disaster areas. In Texas, Oldham, Potter and Armstrong Counties were designated as primary disaster areas due to losses caused by excessive rain that occurred from Nov. 25, 2004, and continuing. Also eligible because they are contiguous include: Briscoe Deaf Smith Gray Moore Randall Carson Donley Hartley Hutchinson Swisher Also in Texas, Hemphill County was designated as a primary disaster area due to losses caused by excessive rain, excessive temperatures and a freeze that occurred from Nov. 1, 2004, and continuing. Also eligible because they are contiguous include: Gray, Lipscomb, Roberts, and Wheeler. Hunt County, Texas was designated as a primary disaster area due to losses caused by excessive rain that occurred from Nov. 1, 2004, and continuing.
