Malaysia Expects Smaller Sugar Cane HarvestWASHINGTON - Apr 14/05 - SNS -- Dry weather conditions in Malaysia are expected to force a cane production down from 800,000 metric tons (MT) last year to a projected 784,000 MT, according to a recent report from the U.S. agricultural attache for the country. Despite a slight improvement in sugar recovery, raw sugar output is expected to decrease to 780,000 MT in 2005. Barring any adverse weather, the agricultural attache expects cane output to bound back to about 800,000 MT in 2006. Subscribers can read the full text of the article by Clicking here
