Weekly U.S. Rail Loadings Rise
WASHINGTON - Apr 8/05 - SNS -- The number of carloads of grains and oilseeds delivered to U.S. ports for the week ending March 30 increased from the previous week, ending two weeks of declining activity, according to the USDA's Transportation and Marketing Programs/Transportation Services Branch weekly Grain Transportation Report.
Total carloads delivered to major port areas during the week totalled 7,946, up from 7,644 the previous week. This lifted crop year to date deliveries to 115,005 cars, up 8% from the 106,138 cars unloaded during the same period last season.
