Australian Auction Sales JumpSYDNEY - Apr 8/05 - SNS -- Livestock sold through online auctions managed by AuctionsPlus Pty Ltd jumped during the past week on strong gains in offerings of both sheep and live cattle. Throughput for the week totalled 22,110 sheep and lambs, up from 12,171 head the previous week and offsetting most of the previous week's losses. The number of cattle put through the company's auctions totalled 2,9755, compared to 1,690 last week, ending two weeks of falling sales. "Buyers of little light cattle, 170 to 210 kg, seem to think it's time to go," AuctionsPlus's Dean Lemmich said. "They created the highlights of our sale today with little Shorthorn steers making to 241.8c and Angus to 264c." Subscribers can read the full text of the article by Clicking here
