Little Change in Dairy Product OutputWASHINGTON - Apr 4/05 - SNS -- There was little change in the quantity of dairy products manufactured in the United States when compared to year earlier levels, but output was generally below January, reflecting a shorter month, according to the latest USDA report. Total cheese output (excluding cottage cheese) was 708 million pounds, 0.5% above February 2004 but 6.2% below January 2005. American type cheese production totaled 292 million pounds, 1.6% below February 2004 and 9.2% below January 2005. Butter production was 113 million pounds in January, 7.3% above February 2004 but 11.8% below January 2005.
