Seeding Intentions Impact BirdseedsVANCOUVER - Apr 1/05 - SNS -- North American birdseed ingredient markets were not initially affected by this year's seedings intentions for sunflower seed in the United States. However, by week's end it was clear markets viewed the USDA numbers in a bearish light; with old and new crop grower bids for large confectionary sunflower seed sinking from U.S. $21 per 100 pounds (cwt) to $19 farmers dressed product delivered processing plants; while bids for smalls were unchanged at $13.
