Bean Intention Higher Than ExpectedVANCOUVER - Apr 1/05 - SNS -- Dry edible bean growers in the United States intend to dramatically increase this year's seeded area, with the USDA survey revealing they would like to boost area 23% to 1.6635 million acres from the 1.3543 million acres actually planted last year. The degree of increase is slightly ahead of expectations by processors in some of the major producing states, who were looking for something closer to a 20% increase than the 29% jump intended by bean growers in North Dakota or the 24% increase currently planned by Michigan bean producers.
