Australian Auction Sales EaseSYDNEY - Apr 1/05 - SNS -- Livestock sold through online auctions managed by AuctionsPlus Pty Ltd declined during the past week, party due to the Eastern shortened trading week. Throughput for the week totalled 12,171 sheep and lambs, offsetting gains made during the previous week. The number of cattle put through the company's auctions totalled 1,690, for a second week of easing sales. "Short week syndrome affected numbers again this reporting period. . . The intriguing thing is, will the numbers start building next week or not?" AuctionsPlus's Dean Lemmich said. "Physical yardings over much of the east have been back as well and there must surely be lots to come over the next 3 to 4 weeks if the dry persists."
