Cost of Selling U.S. Soybeans RisingWASHINGTON - Mar 31/05 - SNS -- The cost of exporting soybeans from the U.S. midwest to Japan continued to escalate through the third of fourth quarter of 2004, according to the USDA's Transportation and Marketing Programs/Transportation Services Branch weekly Grain Transportation Report. Total transportation costs through the Pacific Northwest (PNW) region increased 13.9%, from $77.97 to $88.77 per metric ton (MT), while the total cost through the Gulf of Mexico (Gulf) increased 22.3%, from $75.58 to $92.45 MT.
