U.S. Edible Bean Area May Jump 23%WASHINGTON - Mar 31/05 - SNS -- Dry edible bean area in the United States will jump 23% above last year and 18% above 2003 if growers follow through on this year's seeding intentions, says the USDA. Prospective 2005 planting of dry beans in the U.S. totals 1.66 million acres as growers respond to "high prices for the 2004 crop and low inventories."
