USDA Declares More Ag Disaster CountiesWASHINGTON - Mar 28/05 - SNS -- The USDA designated counties in Massachusetts, Oregon and Texas as primary agricultural disaster areas. Massachusetts In Massachusetts, Hampden and Hampshire Counties were designated as primary disaster areas due to losses caused by abnormally wet weather conditions that occurred from July 15, 2004, through Oct. 31, 2004. Also eligible because they are contiguous are Berkshire, Franklin and Worcester Counties. Oregon In Oregon, Klamath County was designated as a primary disaster area due to losses caused by continuing drought that occurred from Jan. 1, 2004, and continuing. Also eligible because they are contiguous are Deschutes, Douglas, Jackson, Lake and Lane Counties. Texas In Texas, Williamson County was designated as a primary disaster area due to losses caused by excessive rain and flash flooding that occurred from Oct. 1, 2004, and continuing. Also eligible because they are contiguous are Bastrop, Bell, Burnet, Lee, Milam and Travis Counties. Also in Texas, Brewster County was designated as a primary disaster area due to losses caused by excessive rain and flash flooding that occurred from June 1, 2004, and continuing. Also eligible because they are contiguous are Jeff Davis, Pecos, Presidio and Terrell Counties.
