USDA Designates Ag Disaster CountiesWASHINGTON - Mar 24/05 - SNS -- Several counties in Nevada, Tennessee and Texas were designated as primary agricultural disaster areas by the USDA. In Nevada, Clark and Lincoln Counties were designated as primary disaster areas due to losses caused by heavy rains and snow melt, resulting in severe flooding that occurred from Jan. 9, 2005, through Jan. 15, 2005. Also eligible because they are contiguous are Nye and White Pine Counties. In Tennessee, Marion and Sequatchie Counties were designated as primary disaster areas due to losses caused by storms with excessive rains and flooding that occurred from Dec. 5, 2004, and continuing. Also eligible because they are contiguous are the following counties: Bledsoe Grundy Van Buren Franklin Hamilton Warren Texas In Texas, Waller County was designated as a primary disaster area due to losses caused by excessive rain and flooding that occurred from May 13, 2004, and continuing. Also eligible because they are contiguous are the following counties: Austin Grimes Montgomery Fort Bend Harris Washington In Texas, Jack County was designated as a primary disaster area due to losses caused by excessive rain and hail that occurred on June 1, 2004, and continuing.
