Marginal Improvement in S. African BeansPRETORIA - Mar 23/05 - SNS -- South African dry edible bean crops are doing marginally better than initially expected, with this year's summer bean harvest now expected to total 68,820 metric tons (MT), up 80 MT from initial estimates, but down sharply from last year's 80,000 MT result. The South African Grain Information Service (SAGIS) did not update sweet lupin production estimates, but forecast seedings of the winter crop will advance from 7,100 to 8,800 hectares in 2005-06.
