Canada's Brazilian Chicken Imports SlowWASHINGTON - Mar 22/05 - SNS -- Canadian imports of chicken from Brazil have increased since trade was allowed in July of 2002, but there is little evidence these imports will be able to displace U.S. product over the longer term. In examining the market, the U.S. agricultural attache for the country suggests a key factor discouraging larger imports of Brazilian chicken is those processors in Canada who handle are prevented by the Canadian government from exporting to the United States.
