USDA Designates Ag Disaster Counties

WASHINGTON - Mar 22/05 - SNS -- The USDA designated counties in Texas and Maine as primary agricultural disaster areas.

In Texas, Hutchinson and Moore Counties were designated as primary disaster areas due to losses caused by excessive rain and excessive snow that occurred from Oct. 1, 2004, and continuing.

Also eligible because they are contiguous are the following counties:

Carson Hartley Potter
Dallam Ochiltree Roberts
Hansford Oldham Sherman



Maine

   In Maine, Aroostook and Somerset Counties were designated as primary disaster areas due to losses caused by rain and a cold, wet spring and summer that occurred from June 1, 2004, through Oct. 31, 2004.
   Also eligible because they are contiguous are the following counties:

Franklin Penobscot Waldo
Kennebec Piscataquis Washington
