China's Stone Fruit Output, Quality RisingWASHINGTON - Mar 17/05 - SNS -- Stone fruit production in China continues to increase in response to growing domestic demand on account of rising income levels in most urban centers in the country, suggests a report from the U.S. agricultural attache for the country. The 2005 peach/nectarine crop is forecast at 6.9 million MT as new plantings start bearing fruit. The planted area of peaches/nectarines is expected to slightly increase to 645,000 hectares.
