Spain Sees Smaller Orange ExportsWASHINGTON - Mar 15/05 - SNS -- Exports of oranges from Spain could decline this year because the Iberian Peninsula has experienced the coldest weather in the last several years this winter, causing damage to Spain's mid-to-late harvest citrus crops. Producers are clamoring for financial assistance from the European Union, Spanish Government and local Autonomous Governments to help offset their perceived losses, but Government officials are examining and verifying the losses in a measured fashion, reports the U.S. agricultural attache for the country.
