Australian Auction Sales FallSYDNEY - Mar 11/05 - SNS -- Livestock sold through online auctions managed by AuctionsPlus Pty Ltd during the past week slumped on declining selling interest for both sheep and cattle. Throughput for the week totalled 45,019 sheep and lambs, down from 51,126 last week, ending two weeks of increased sales. The number of cattle put through the company's auctions totalled 1,376, down from 3,337 last week, ending three weeks of declining sales. "Numbers were assisted by two special store sales and one gets the impression numbers for our regular sales are shortening back," AuctionsPlus's Dean Lemmich said. "Despite some large physical yardings most grades of cattle, except for cows and bullocks, seemed to firm all week despite the lack of rain."
