USDA Designates Ag Disaster CountiesWASHINGTON - Mar 10/05 - SNS -- The USDA designated counties in Texas and Wyoming as primary agricultural disaster areas. In Texas, Blanco County was designated as a primary disaster area due to rain, flooding and a tornado that occurred from Nov. 1, 2004, through Nov. 23, 2004. Also eligible because they are contiguous are Burnet, Comal, Gillespie, Hays, Kendall, Llano and Travis Counties. In Texas, Brown County was designated as a primary disaster area due to rain, flooding, hail, high winds and lightning that occurred from Nov. 15, 2004, and continuing. Also eligible because they are contiguous are Callahan, Coleman, Comanche, Eastland, McCulloch, Mills and San Saba Counties. In Texas, Sherman County was designated as a primary disaster area due to rain that occurred from Nov. 30, 2004, and continuing. Also eligible because they are contiguous are Dallam, Hansford, Harley, Hutchinson and Moore Counties. In Texas, Harris County was designated as a primary disaster area due to rain, flooding, high winds and tornadoes that occurred from Nov. 20, 2004, through Nov. 24, 2004. Also eligible because they are contiguous are Brazoria, Chambers, Fort Bend, Galveston, Liberty, Montgomery and Waller Counties. In Wyoming, Park County was designated as a primary disaster area due to drought that occurred from Jan. 1, 2004, and continuing. Also eligible because they are contiguous are Fremont and Hot Springs Counties.
