Dow, ABED Canola AgreementNEW YORK - Mar 2/05 - SNS -- Dow AgroSciences Danmark A/S and ABED FONDEN (ABED Foundation or ABED) reached an agreement to support the research and development of Dow AgroSciences' Nexera canola seed and Natreon canola oil business. Financial terms of the agreement, which will see seven ABED employees transferred to Dow AgroSciences Danmark A/S were not disclosed. "The agreement will allow Dow AgroSciences to accelerate the development of Nexera canola seed products specifically adapted to the European environment," said Steve Thompson, global R&D leader for Seeds and Traits R&D for Dow AgroSciences. Dow AgroSciences will continue to maintain a relationship with the ABED Foundation through the leasing of facilities that will be used for the breeding of Nexera canola seed. ABED will continue its small grains breeding program which will focus on the Danish market.
