Monsanto Buys NC+ HybridsNEW YORK - Mar 2/05 - SNS -- Monsanto Company's American Seeds, Inc. (ASI) paid U.S. $40 million cash for NC+ Hybrids, Inc., headquartered in Lincoln, Nebraska. NC+ Hybrids, Inc. was recently formed through a reorganization of NC+ Hybrids Cooperative, which was established in Nebraska nearly 50 years ago as a farmer-owned co-operative. Today, NC+ Hybrids represents approximately 1% of the U.S. corn seed market. NC+ Hybrids, Inc. joins the companies of Channel Bio Corp., ASI's cornerstone business that currently manages three successful independent brands: Crow's Hybrid Corn Company, Midwest Seed Genetics, Inc. and Wilson Seeds.
