Indian Cotton Harvest Revised UpwardWASHINGTON - Mar 1/05 - SNS -- Heavier than expected deliveries by farmers in India suggest the country's cotton harvest is actually around 21 million bales instead of the 19.2 million bales forecast in December, according to a report from the U.S. agricultural attache for the country. Market arrivals through February 19 reached 17.76 million bales, compared to 12.49 million bales for the corresponding period last year. Production forecasts from industry sources vary from 20.0 million bales to 22.5 million bales, although the Cotton Advisory Board (CAB) continues to estimate the crop at 21.3 million bales.
