Saskatchewan Cattle Export MeetingSASKATOON - Mar 1/05 - SNS -- The Saskatchewan Cattle Feeders Association is sponsoring a March 4 information meeting at 2 PM at the Saskatoon Auction Mart here on exporting live cattle to the United States. Barring an injunction stemming from lawsuits launched by several states and some U.S. farm organizations, the U.S. border will open for live Canadian cattle under 30 months of age on march 7. "However, there will be a number of rules and requirements for accessing that market," the provincial association reminds producers. The meeting will cover export requirements for live cattle to the U.S.; USDA border and customs requirements; and issues surrounding reading and recording CCIA eartag numbers.
