Ample Supplies of Fresh and Frozen FruitWASHINGTON - Feb 22/05 - SNS -- Inventories of fresh and frozen fruit remained above year earlier levels at the end of January, though they were down from month earlier levels, according to the USDA's latest report on agricultural products in cold storage. Fresh apples stocks finished January at 4,414 million pounds, up 31% from the previous year, but down 15% during on the month. Pears were down from both year and month earlier levels. Inventories of frozen fruit fell 10% during December to 960.9 million pounds, but remained 7% above year earlier levels.
