Australian Auction Sales Inch UpSYDNEY - Feb 18/05 - SNS -- Livestock sold through online auctions managed by AuctionsPlus Pty Ltd during the past week inched up week earlier levels as gains in sheep sales offset declines in cattle. Throughput for the week totalled 21,321 sheep and lambs, up from 20,000 last week, offsetting some of the previous week's declines. The number of cattle put through the company's auctions totalled 1,783, down from 2,259 last week, for a third week of declining sales. "Passed-in rates for sheep improved markedly and there was a solid upward trend, without it going overboard," AuctionsPlus's Dean Lemmich said.
