Australian Auction Sales SinkSYDNEY - Feb 11/05 - SNS -- Livestock sold through online auctions managed by AuctionsPlus Pty Ltd during the past week plunged below week earlier levels in the face of a steep drop in sheep offerings and lower cattle sales. Throughput for the week totalled 20,000 sheep and lambs, down from 37,934 last week, ending three weeks of increased sales activity. The number of cattle put through the company's auctions totalled 2,259, down from 2,599 last week, for a second week of declining sales. "A frustrating week for all concerned with the lamb market in particular loosing much more than it had gained at the end of last week," AuctionsPlus's Dean Lemmich said.
