Michigan Groups Push for Asparagus Help
LANSING - Feb 3/05 - SNS -- The Michigan Farm Bureau will join with the Michigan Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Association (MACMA) Asparagus Division and the Michigan Asparagus Advisory Board to press the USDA to buy more product this year.
In a visit to Washington scheduled for next week, the groups will ask the USDA to buy about 7 million pounds of canned and frozen asparagus for child nutrition and other domestic food assistance programs.
