Vegetables in Cold Storage Decline in DecemberWASHINGTON - Jan 24/05 - SNS -- Frozen vegetable supplies dropped 8% during December to finish the year at almost 2,219 million pounds, up 5% from the previous year, according to the USDA's latest report on agricultural products in cold storage. Most categories of vegetables were down from month earlier levels. By contrast, stocks of most of the major product categories were up from year earlier levels. Supplies of potatoes in cold storage were uniformly down at the end of December, dropping 12% on the month to 1,069 million pounds, down 5% from 2003.
