SAGIS Adjusts Bean Area HigherPRETORIA - Jan 20/05 - SNS -- Total pulse production levels across the 2004-05 season look to be sharply lower in South Africa on account of reduced summer dry edible bean seeded area. According to data from the South African Grain Information Service (SAGIS), this year's seeded area will likely end up at 52,150 hectares, down from 56,200 hectares last year, but above grower intentions to plant just 48,000 hectares this season.
