Russian Crushing Plant Expands

KIEV - Jan 18/05 - APK -- Vegetable oil extraction facilities operated by "Yug Rusi" in Rostov-on-Don will be expanded with the addition of a new oilseed crushing operation, the company's spokesman said to APK-Inform.

The new facility will not only boost crushing capacity of the plant fourfold -- up to 4,000 metric tons (MT) of oilseeds per day or over 1.3 million MT per year, but will the first complex in Russia, destined for combined processing of soybean, rapeseed, mustard seed and sunflower.

The crushing capacity of soy processing plant to be started up by Yug Rusi will become 1 million MT of the beans per year. This will allow producing up to 200,000 MT of oil and over 800,000 MT of soymeal, while the whole Russian livestock breeding sector needs just about 300,000 MT of this product annually.

Thus, the company's management thinks they will be able to abundantly cover domestic demand in soya meal and to create a feeding basis for a subsequent growth of livestock industry production in the country.

The facility is also projected to produce "white petal" in the amount of over 140,000 MT per year. The company's specialists are developing a technology of further processing of "white petal" into soybean concentrates and isolates.

The facility will be also processing sunflower, rapeseeds and mustard seeds.
