Birdseed End Week MixedVANCOUVER - Jan 14/05 - SNS -- Birdseed ingredient markets finished the week's trading under mixed conditions. Canadian canaryseed traders appeared to be somewhat anxious, with importers in South America reporting asking prices and trading levels have declined over the past month. Brazilian importers reported paying U.S. $360 per metric ton (MT) on a C+F basis for Canadian product. By contrast, grower bids in western Canada have inched up from a high of CDN $11 per 100 pounds (cwt) for farmers dressed merchandise delivered processing plants in mid-December to a finish the week in a range up to $11.50; or from U.S. $8.96 cwt the middle of December to finish this week at $9.32 cwt.
